WORK IN PROGRESS

Birchbark Love

Haven’t made much work over the last year but have a few projects on the go now - just completed a piece for a local show in Wolfville (detail: 2nd photo) and currently building a sculpture! Showing big love to the fruits of last summer’s wood supply!

Dissolve/Evolve

I’ve been picking away at a new bird series that has a little bit of everything; embroidery, painting, and pencil on coffee-dyed paper. This one has been a slow burn as there are so many other “life” things happening right now! I’ll be getting back to these little ones soon…

THINKS

That Sheer and Me

In September 2023, a curious thing happened with a sheer curtain that I had used to protect my lacinato kale during the summer months from the ravages of the cabbage moth. From the moment that sheer was washed and hit the clothesline at the end of the season, I became fascinated with its every move…it swayed, danced, and swooned, fashioning shapes out of the wind like I had never seen. It has captured my imagination, and my heart, like no other piece of fabric ever has or likely ever will.
